Don Bales hunts the toughest terrain found anywhere in America and I can vouch for that. He hunts the Loess Hills area just outside of Natchez Mississippi and folks, he earned this turkey. Nice gobbler Don. And thanks for taking a couple of Colorado boys to some of your favorite turkey hunting spots. Don has a Wenge/Bloodwood Mother Clucker in his arsenal of calls. Vance worked a flock of 6 jakes, 19 hens and one old limping gobbler for about an hour and a half until they finally crossed the road about 150 yards in front of him. As they went in the woods he finally got one old hen to turn and start walking toward his yelping and one by one the rest followed. The old gobbler was limping along about 50 yards behind the rest when Vance clocked him. He was using a Red Oak Mother Clucker.

Jim got this big gobbler on the 4th day of our Texas hunt with a Virgin Hen call. These Rio Grande turkeys love that high pitched call. My good friend Kenny with a nice Osceola gobbler taken near Datona Beach Florida. Kenny has been a great friend to us by welcoming us into his home and taking us hunting with him. Thank you Kenny and family.

Jim Loyless has done it again. He took another Grand Slam this year and made it look easy. Next year I know who I'm tagging along with. How's this for a white Eastern wild turkey taken in Mississippi? Not too common, but they are around. This bird is on display at Simmon's Sporting Goods in Bastrop, Louisiana.

Phil Smith from Deland, Florida with a nice Wyoming Merriam gobbler. This year Phil completed his Grand Slam by taking all 4 species in the same year. Congratulations Mr. Phil on completing a difficult task. Jeff McClearn and his big Eastern taken near Stoneboro, Pennsylvania. At 11 in the morning he called this big Eastern up and he weighed 22 lbs. and sported a 11 inch beard. That 10 guage shows no mercy. Used a Red Oak Mother Clucker to do the deed.
